Titan Worldwide Out “Paces” Competition in Chicago
Out-of-Home Leader Complements Chicago Transit Authority Business with Pace Acquisition
NEW YORK, September 29, 2008 –Titan Worldwide has substantially expanded its footprint in Chicago by acquiring the contract to sell advertising on Pace, the suburban bus division of the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA), confirming Titan as the leader in transit advertising in the United States.
Effective October 1, 2008, the partnership further extends Titan’s reach to nearly 39 million commuters in the 3,500 square miles of Chicago’s six-county suburban area. The contract will enable Titan to become a one-stop shop for transit advertising in the Chicago area with both CTA and Pace in its inventory until 2012. In April of this year, Titan was also chosen to sell digital advertising for the CTA and essentially transform the transit advertising industry with its out-of-home advertising technology set to launch later this year.
“We love the Chicago market and are proud to be adding Pace vans and buses to our family of media,” said Don Allman, President and CEO of Titan Worldwide. “This contract gives us the opportunity to reach even further into the Chicagoland area, which is attractive to advertisers looking to reach a broad-range of commuters."
In total, the Pace system consists of 570 40-foot buses, 230 fixed bus routes, including 700 vanpools and 363 paratransit buses, a service for individuals with disabilities. Titan’s new inventory on the Pace system will consist of Transit Shelters, Full Wrapped Buses, exterior and interior media.
